The inspiration for my work comes from a variety of sources. Often, I paint on location in the southwest, in Maine or in other places in this country and abroad. These experiences are invariably challenging and stimulating. I shoot lots of photos along the way which I can revisit when I return to develop a whole new set of ideas.

My studio at home gives me the opportunity to work in a different way and make other kinds of art as well. Here, I can gather any resources I choose to realize an idea. Here, anything goes and the elements are not usually a constraint.
